A cloud of grief hangs over the Corbett family home. Becca and Howie have suffered a life-changing loss resulting from a car accident and are just beginning to deal with it, each in their own way. Trying to help them cope is Becca's well-meaning mother, Nat, a woman wrestling with her own demons, and Izzy, Becca's hyperactive younger sister, who tries to break through tension with humor. Her humor is often misunderstood and only serves to add the sorrow driving the family apart. No one seems to be able to say the right thing, and well-meaning advice is received like a slap in the face. When the driver of the car that caused the accident unexpectedly visits to express his guilt for what happened, it's almost too much for the couple to bear. Written with a graceful style full of sensitivity and realism, "Rabbit Hole" takes the audience through the rollercoaster ride of emotions that grief always brings.
