6th Annual Etowah Valley Indian Festival

Enjoy this great festival near the native lands of the Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site! Saturday 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday Noon-6 p.m. Admission $5 per person ages 16 and older. Celebrating Cartersville's rich Native American heritage with traditional dance, music, native foods, storytelling and educators of traditional crafts and skills. Shop for authentic crafts: cornshuck dolls, gourd carvings, native beads, jewelry, baskets and more. Enjoy a Fireside Showcase on Saturday evening with a special concert by Grammy Winner Bill Miller! See primitive skills demonstrations. See Chipa Wolf in Warriors on Horseback, Ray Pena's Birds of Prey, enjoy the music of Okefenokee Joe and learn about his snakes, the Big Mountain Dancers, the Silenas Family Aztec Dancers, Fancy Dancing by Robin, Angelina & Jon Jon Jumper, Cherokee Historian Mark Eaton, Primitive Cooking by Carolyn Lee, and Primitive Skills by Richie Taylor. Sponsored by the City of Cartersville, the festival is part of a month-long "Cowboys and Indians in Cartersville" extravaganza. United Way of Bartow County and the American Red Cross will assist with parking and admissions. All proceeds will benefit these two charities.

I-75 Exit 288, GA 113 south (heading due West) through downtown Cartersville approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto Douthit Ferry Rd, (see McDonald's on left) go through traffic light and continue through 4-way stop passing Cartersville Middle School on right. Park is just ahead on the right, near Etowah Indian Mounds.
