An Evening at Oak
Hill
Meet the Bartow
County belle who was courted by
William T. Sherman or the local soldier who became the youngest Major General
in the Confederate Army, or the woman who was married to the country’s most
famous evangelist of the early 20th century.
These long gone Bartow County
residents and some of their friends will be visiting Cartersville this Saturday,
September 24, when the Bartow History
Center hosts its third annual
“Evening in Oak Hill
Cemetery.”
Costumed interpreters, all members of the
Pumphouse Players, will bring to life some of Bartow
County’s interesting historical
figures in the unique setting that is Oak Hill. One of the area’s most historic places, the
cemetery is a wealth of information about our past.
Tours begin at 7 p.m.
and will take place on the half hour, with the final tour beginning at 8:30 p.m.
Tickets may be purchased at the Bartow
History Center,
13 N. Wall Street,
Cartersville, and are $5 for museum members and $10 for non-members. For more information call 770-382-3818 ext.
288. Learn more history at www.notatlanta.org.
