Cledus T. Judd

One of many local Shining Stars, Cledus T. Judd was honored by the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau in 2005 at the Inaugural Hospitality Heroes Awards. Cledus was presented the Shining Star Award for Musical Accomplishment. Also honored in 2005 was actor Wayne Knight, presented the Shining Star Award for Theatrical Accomplishment. The Shining Star Award is presented to a Bartow County native, resident or organization whose excellence in a positive endeavor has earned national recognition, thus generating a favorable light on the community.

Through his country music parodies, unfailing determination, and love for his community Cledus aptly fits the bill for Shining Star. His career began in 1995 on the Razor & Tie label with th studio album Cledus T. Judd (no relation). Since then Cledus has produced 10 more CDs under three labels - Sony/Monument Records, Koch Records and Curb Records.

Cledus served as ringmaster (host) for Brooks & Dunn's Neon Circus and Wild West Show, touring with country music giants such Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry, Keith Urban and more. From 2002-2004, Judd was co-host for the popular show, CMT Most Wanted Live. Recently, Cledus has transformed himself once again as a contestant on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club. Cledus now enjoys a healthy lifestyle following the loss of more than 100 pounds.

In 2007 he released Boogity, Boogity: A Tribute to the Comic Genius of Ray Stevens. Cledus also embarked on a new career as a disc jockey on the Morning Show at WQYK Tampa. Beginning January 7, 2008, Cledus returns home to host "The T Party" weekday mornings from 5:00-9:00 a.m. on Atlanta's 94.9 The Bull. See Cledus at www.curb.com or at www.949thebull.com.
