Since 1929, The Grand Theatre has served as the cultural centerpiece of Bartow County. The theatre provides a wide range of educational, performing arts and entertainment programs throughout the year. It is also the premier rental space for other local performing arts organizations.


The mission of The Grand Theatre is to foster a life-long appreciation for the performing arts by offering quality educational programs and providing a variety of cultural events to diverse audiences in Bartow County. Artist Studios

Spring Place Pottery & Artists' Gallery

This new art gallery and studio opened in downtown Cartersville on June 25, 2010. The gallery features pottery, paintings and handmade art by local and regional artists. Additional artwork includes fiber wearable's, yarn, walking sticks, piano art, soy candles, painted glass and furniture, clay sculpture, bath products, note cards, kaleidoscopes, enamel jewelry and much more. Spring Place Pottery & Gallery is located at 15 East Main Street in Historic Downtown Cartersville and is open Tuesday-Saturday 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Call 770-383-9910 for more details.


Payne Pottery

Ronnie Payne created his first pottery pieces at the age of 17 on a handmade kick wheel that he helped build. After years of honing his craft he opened his studio in 2001 and now works full time as a potter, sharing his craft with his wife, Brhonda, who decorates the stoneware clay pieces with hand-sculpted calla lilies, dogwood or grapes. The Paynes have won many awards for their pottery including the prestigious Best of Show honors at the Arts Festival at Rose Lawn. Payne Pottery is located in Emerson, Georgia. The Part Time Artist

102-C Public Square, Adairsville GA 30103. Artist Skip McNutt discovered his love of drawing at the age of 12 when immersed in comic books. Skip majored in art in college and then pursued his artistic career as a "part-time artist." Today, Skip devotes his full attention to art and has his works in more than 7 countries and in all 50 states in the USA. Specializing in pencil drawings of historical architecture, Skip also does commissioned work. At his studio in Historic Adairsville, he teaches perspective drawing and operates an art supply store open Monday, Thursday, Friday 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday 3-6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Art lessons are by appointment. Donald Freking Pottery

Donald Freking Pottery specializes in producing hand thrown decorative pottery and functional stoneware. Freking takes pride in the various and unique techniques used including salt fired pieces. Freking Pottery is located in the 1935 studio and gallery once known as Georgia Art Pottery and built by the late Bill Gordy. Due to the pottery's historical value, Freking welcomes pottery tours with advance reservation. Classes and summer pottery camps are also available.
